MCEE currently offers FOUR state certificate programs where Mississippi teachers can earn an endorsement on their teaching license for completion. Subject areas offered are Economics, Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship and College and Career Readiness. Please see below for qualifications and additional information.
The Master Teacher of Economics (MTE) is our flagship program, created to bridge the gap between what educators know and what they need to know. In addition to improving teaching skills, the MTE improves a teacher’s ability and practice of being a good critical thinker. MTEs will have more ability and confidence to empower their students’ critical thinking capacity to make better choices as they plan their personal finance goals. Successful MTEs will understand why economics education is valuable and learn how to present the content in an engaging manner; have the ability to mentor students in making economic and personal finance decisions; articulate answers to the essential questions related to making college and career ready decisions; recognize good economics informational text; and improve in structuring learning experiences. The MTE was developed to be an example that teachers could replicate in their classrooms to meet best practices in engaging students to integrate critical thinking into their lives.

This course is SO NEEDED by today's youth. It makes personal finance relatable to students and gives them a healthy start to adult finances!!
This course did an outstanding job of pulling together the financial concepts needed for “adulting.” The layout of the course and the materials included provide a perfect foundation for teaching personal finance to others.
Every aspect of this course touches on what students need to know to make it in this world today.

This course changed my life. There is so much information that I can share with my students as well as apply in my own everyday life. Every teacher that plans to teach CCR should be required to go through this course.
This MTCCR course was one of the most informative and innovative courses that I've taken in years. The instructors and information shared were on point for instructing for success.
In my opinion, this course is the most critical course there is when it comes to making sure that students have what they need to make the best decision they can upon graduation.
